Since prehistoric times, the human being, in its quest for knowledge and the expansion of consciousness, has used sacred or entheogenic plants in ceremonies. Our Mother Earth has put these plants in different locations throughout the world. Latin America is home to several, but there are two that hold a particular place in our ceremonies.
Sacred Plants
Peyote (Lophophora williamsii) is a cactus native to Mexico. It is used by different indigenous nations: Huicholes, Tarahumaras, Mexicas, Navajos, Lakotas, to name a few. It is their sacred plant that governs their spiritual lives. They also use it traditionally as natural preventive medicine and to fight different diseases.
Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi) is a liana, a type of climbing vine from the Amazon used by different tribes and indigenous nations of South America - namely Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and other countries. For these indigenous peoples, Ayahuasca is the most sacred and venerated of all their medicines because it is what teaches them to live well, fights different diseases, and serves as natural preventive medicine for children and adults.
With the guidance of our teachers, we have revitalized this millennial indigenous wisdom to assist and help our people.
The medicine man is trained in 7 different medicines, including mushrooms (psilocybin), and will choose the most appropriate medicine(s) after consulting with the patient.
The Intention
In our Ceremonies, we take these medicinal sacraments safely, with great respect and reverence, always with a well-defined purpose. The medicines are procured ethically and sustainably, with the blessings of our elders.
The intention of the ceremony always revolves around health, well-being, healing, awakening, knowledge, responsibility for oneself, and other intentions meant to uplift the self or the collective in order to serve the Greater Good.
This does not mean that if we take these medicinal plants, all of our problems will be solved. Rather, this medicine helps us take responsibility for ourselves so that we can make the necessary adjustments in our lives. We do not recommend this ceremony for anyone trying to run away from their problems.
The Ceremony
The ceremony lasts all night. The fire we light in the middle of the altar is our guide. This fire is the presence of the harmony and love of the Great Spirit.
We use the medicine of our songs, of our hearts, and the vibration of the drum. We play instruments, drums, rattles, and we sing icaros, or sacred songs for healing. The songs and chants seek to guide consciousness through vibrations. They are truly prayers.
The first thing the medicine does is cleanse our physical body. It is common for nausea and vomiting to occur; it is part of the cleansing and purification process. For this reason, taking care of ourselves and doing so with proper attention and intention before the ceremony is very important.
The medicine man or woman (Shaman) who guides the Ceremony plays a very important role since they ensure that the ritual is aligned and harmonized down to the smallest detail, and that the proper conditions for the health and welfare of the attendees are met at all times. The person who leads the ceremony is offering his life for the attendees, for the ceremony’s purpose.
Prior to the ceremony, the spiritual guide has a private talk with each participant individually, to better know and best guide them. Our priority is to take care of the integrity of our patients.
Our path includes all people, races, and nations of the four directions of this Earth. It is our desire to exist in balance and harmony with all that exists, in order to honor all our relationships and respect the diversity and unity of the Great Family of Life.

Our Plant Medicine Ceremonies are held in a private area in San Pancho (San Francisco), a short ride from Sayulita. By request, we can also travel to your location.
At least a week before the ceremony, you should carefully watch your diet, focusing on healthy food like fruits, vegetables, grains, and seeds. During this time, it is important to avoid irritating foods, alcohol, and drugs, as well as to moderate sexual energy and strong emotions.
*If you are on any medications, especially antidepressants, please let us know before scheduling the ceremony.*
