One of the biggest tourist attractions on the Riviera Nayarit is without question the arrival of the humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae). Every year, in one of the largest migratory journeys in the animal kingdom, the humpback whale travels thousands of miles to reach the warm coasts of Nayarit to perform mating and nursing rituals. Considered one of the most acrobatic mammals, the humpback whale amazes us with their displays of power.

More than 2000 figures carved in stone shows our ancient culture. The tecoxquines, or ancient inhabitants, worked on volcanic rock symbols concerning health, fertility, rain, agriculture, and their offerings and prayers for the wellness of the community. Nowadays, it is still a very important site for different indigenous groups. It is a place full of magic and peace that will take you through time. La Tovara is a spring which gives rise to a natural fresh water pond in the middle of an estuary. The area is very extensive and full of natural canals through the jungle. It is a very important place for nesting and provides shelter for many species, as well as playing an important role in the natural balance of ecosystems.
